Tomb Raider Underworld Lara Croft Action Figure

I really like this action figure. Always have been a fan of Lara Croft. Wish the movies had been better, didn’t even see them, just clips, since the reviews weren’t good. I haven’t played the last two games. They look like they’re more playable than the early ones which I have attempted to play. This is a great figure, made by NECA which made the white ninja turtles I bought to decorate my room with.

Here is Ms. Lara Croft with my schleich albino alligator I got at the Academy of Sciences in San Francisco where they have a real life albino alligator.

I managed to get this toy for 14 dollars online even though most sites charge like 30 dollars for it now. Found this one online store that sold it cheaper. I went to every toy store looking for it so I gave up and bought it online.

I took these slow shutter pictures with my Sony DCS-W1 and used my iPhone to illuminate the scene (painting with light). Idk if the new live view cameras allow this but it would be nice to see a live preview as you take slow shutter pics. It’s hard to know if you’ve illuminated it enough or what you’ve illuminated. It’s very hit or miss. The white glare is my iphone being waved slowly around Lara in front of the window. The room was dark.

Wish the shoulder joints weren’t so visible. The paint also leaves a lot to be desired on this figure. The sculpt is awesome but the paint flecks and bumps kind of ruin it. I used lightroom to edit out a lot of paint bumps and cracks. If they improve on the next figure then they will have advanced toys a lot which will be a very positive thing. Those sports toys made from scans of real people have great detail and are inexpensive so if they do the same with these they could really have something since Lara is like the 3rd most popular videogame character. She’s up there with Mario if you check wikipedia. They make very accurate Mario toys so they should make very accurate Lara toys too.

The camera picked the focus here, not me. It has a mind of its own since it’s an old digicam.
In the Tomb Raider Underworld poster her skin is covered in dirty green water, like you’d find in a puddle with algea.
I haven’t seen anyone mod their toy with paint but I think doing that might make the toy even better. More accurate and it might help cover the seams, but I don’t think I’m brave enough to risk ruining it.

Depending on how you light it you can get some very cool looks.
They should come out with more than one toy for the Tomb Raider stuff.
I checked online and there’s an evil Lara now. Doppleganger I think is her name.
They should come out with some toys for her.
tomb raiders cosplayers
This site has tutorials on how to make your own Tomb Raider costume:

Looks like most cosplayers either make the guns out of cardboard and some other materials or buy cheap bb guns. There must be a lot of research that goes into making an accurate costume, so spend at least a month gathering info if you plan on making something as elaborate as that.

The Tomb Raider franchise has many possibilities. I don’t know why they don’t take advantage of them all.
A whole line of toys and figurines, maquettes, busts, TV cartoons in 3D, 3d movies, books, games that are playable and that could come out every 6 months instead of every other year.

It’s a good character and concept that people are interested in. She’s the female Indiana Jones.

this is Doppleganger, I think :S She’s the bad Lara. She wants to get rid of Lara. In the new game you’re her. Idk if I’d like to get rid of a character I’m a fan of. That’s not like me at all. Idk if others feel the same way. It’d be like playing a villain that tries to get rid of Superman. Nobody wants to get rid of a character they like :L I think. I’ll have to play the game and find out but I’d imagine when it came time to do something I’d probably purposefully not hit the right buttons and lose. They’ve probably thought of this already and made the game fun instead of scary.

the pins in the grenades are removable. I took one out and then took all of them out. They’re painted on the inside too so I didn’t break it, they’re made removable, but I don’t recommend doing it since they’re a pain to put back in. I’ll certainly never take them out again.

I actually played TR: Underworld and it was a really great game. The environments like Angkor Wat in Cambodia and the oceanic cliffs of Thailand were just amazing. Some of the best I’ve seen in a game in a long time. You don’t play the bad Lara, though
You do get to fight her though. play it!

I need a new comp with windows 7, Idk about investing more money into this old one. what if the specs require something better and stuff?
I also want dual monitors for sure since I got that free one with the mac mini.
